What if you want to publish your company’s information on the Blockchain but you want it to be private? No problem, we explain below the different types of Blockchains that are available to us and how they adapt to all needs.
There are different Blockchain networks that adapt to the needs of users and we highlight the following 4:
- Public networks: such as Ethereum or Bitcoin. In them, all the information is completely public, everyone has access to them. It has positive aspects, such as transparency and security. Given the large amount of information they handle, they need powerful hard disks to support all the movements that are made and the large amount of information that is stored.
- Private networks: This would be the one used by companies that prefer to have all the information reserved for internal use. The entity has the power to give access to this data and manage who access this information and who does not. This is achieved with end-to-end encryption of all information, so that it cannot be decrypted without its relevant keys.
- Authorized Blockchain Networks: Also referred to as Hybrid and is a mix between public and private networks. It is characterized that the owners of this network can choose what information they want to have private and what data to show to the rest of the users, giving an image of security and transparency but without losing privacy when necessary. This can be used by banks, for example
- Federated or consortium networks: This is based on the hybrid Blockchain network but several organizations are in control of this network and control who has access to the data and transactions and who does not. This could be used for example by a canned fish production chain. This network would involve all the companies through which the products pass from the time they are caught until they are put on sale in supermarkets.
What can I send?
All types of assets can be transferred as long as this information is in digital format. These can be cryptocurrencies, NFTs, company information, intellectual property, medical records, etc.
What information can I get?
When you enter a blockchain network, you can find a wide variety of information about the transactions that take place. This data helps us to trace the path it has taken and all the elements involved in it.
Some of the data we can find are the following:
- The exact date on which the transaction was created or carried out and the people who created or participated in it (such as various authors or investors).
- If new data has been included, which people have done it and on which dates. This helps us to know if they have tried to change the information or hack the blocks.
- In the same way, thanks to the security of this technology, we can also know the people who access this information and if they have tried to modify it or copy it.
